We absolutely love The Peaceful Preschool and are excited to continue with this curriculum over the next few years. My girls are currently four + two and we are on the Letter M. Our plan is to complete the curriculum loosely this year (sometimes only 1-2 activities per week) and then repeat it in a more structured manner next Fall (2018). The “Letter A” unit can always be downloaded for free if you are interested in seeing if this curriculum would be a good fit for your family. The Playful Pioneers curriculum is also available for children who are older (K-2). Below are affiliate links for your convenience.
Stretching the 1 week units into two weeks has been the right choice for us, as my oldest knows all of the letters that we have covered. I don’t think that 1 week would be sufficient for their current ages considering we are doing so few activities each week. For details on how this format works and why I initially made this decision, please check out the Planning + Prep Post that I wrote.
Over the past few months, I have really refocused my priorities. I have spent almost all of the past five years blogging or sharing resources with other women and families and it has truly been a blessing to me. In my current season of life, I want to be able to soak in all of the precious moments with my family, connect with more local women and passionately share on this website. In order for me to stay true to these goals, I need to take a step back on the “reoccurring posts” I typically write. I would love to have the ability to finally finish our house tour, share more about our family’s journey towards minimalism + going plant-based and use my passion for graphic design to create fun, random learning printables. I am also currently working on our annual minimalist holiday gift guide. We will still be doing The Peaceful Preschool and our instagram will still have photos of our projects and units. The only change is that I am making ALL of the free letter printables available at once (below). I’ve gotten asked in the past if I already had this available, but I was creating the printables as we worked through each letter. I decided to finish out all of the units and offer one PDF that has A – Z Stamp It, Poke It, Write It, Letter Flashcards + Unit Bible Verse pages. This will hopefully be very helpful to any families that are ahead of us in the curriculum or to families who just love these print outs and wanted a full set. The Unit Bible Verses are provided in The Peaceful Preschool curriculum and they suggest decorating it to create a book for the 26 units. In order to make this easier, I’ve created two cards for each unit. You simply print the page on cardstock and cut out the two pages. Let your child decorate them however they would like and then laminate the pages back to back. This will create a letter flashcard page for each unit and you can even keep track of them by punching a hole and adding them to a book ring. Other families choose only to print the letter flashcards!
We are excited to continue through this curriculum and hope you will join us! To connect with other families + see activity details from people participating, don’t forget to tag your photos with the unique letter hashtag (i.e. #LetterAUnit or #LetterMUnit) and the tags #simplylearningkids #thepeacefulpreschool. You can access all of our previous Letter Units by clicking here or using the navigation bar at the top of the site. The navigation bar is also where all of our Tot School and Literature Preschool Units are posted. If you are interested, I also created over 200 free 3 Part Cards for The Peaceful Preschool as well. If you have any questions, please leave them below or contact me. If you enjoy using our curriculum and you have a desire to say thank you, send me an email or a cup of coffee! Our resources will always remain free, but I love getting feedback and hearing about the ways in which our curriculum has blessed other families. You can use the link below to grab the free printables!
