Here is a basically no cost, low prep letter recognition activity for you to try with your little one! Not only does it address matching and recognizing the alphabet, it also works on fine motor skills and provides a sensory experience. Here are the items you will need to recreate this activity. I filled our bin with some water and placed all of the alphabet pieces inside. I provided the scoopers so that she could strengthen her little hand muscles and work on pre-scissor skills. As she rescued each letter from the water bin, she matched it and placed it into the puzzle (another great exercise for her fingers!). This was such an easy activity and we were able to enjoy the warm weather on our patio while she did it.
What are some other low prep or easy letter recognition activities that you do with your child? We would love to hear your ideas!
